LG, the television maker reveals that by 2012 end, a universal smart TV system is to be available. Philips and LG have come together and are creating a universal platform on TVs for apps with Japanese manufacturers support. The new smart TV offers single platform to share apps and encourage multiple TVs and developers.
This system will give an edge to the embattled Google TV interface that is the sole cross-brand ecosystem. This alliance of Smart TV hopes to make tools available on its website for free and yearns to simplify creating new apps in multiple brands. Set that the tools appeared by 2012 end, it is unlikely for any other brand to sport this new interface until 2014, but for Philips or LG.
